Zhuliany Airport Kyiv
Kyiv International Airport Zhuliany
Like most European capitals, Kyiv is served by two major airports, one for major
international airlines, and one for budget flights. Zhuliany Airport (IEV) is the city’s budget airport, and is
served mainly by WizzAir. It is the country’s main business aviation airport, and in fact is one of the biggest
business aviation hubs in Europe.
Zhuliany Airport Terminals
The airport has two terminals, A and B, located about 1km away from
each other. Public transportation runs near both terminals, and a walking route connects the two, as does
Trolleybus No. 22.
All international flights both arrive at and depart from Terminal A, and
UTair-Ukraine domestic flights depart from here. The two-storey Terminal A is also where most shops and services
are located.
All domestic flights arrive at Terminal B, and some domestic flights depart from
here.
Services at the airport
Terminal A houses a pizzeria, coffee shop, bakery, magazine shop,
two mobile phone stores, gift shop and manicurist on its ground floor.
On the first floor, an information desk, nursery, baby care, pharmacy, medical center, bank, post office, café,
bar, shops, lost and found, baggage locker and business lounge are located. This is also where you’ll find gates,
ticket services, customs, passport control, and an information desk.
Transport to and from the airport
Unlike many budget airports, Zhuliany Airport is near enough to Kyiv’s center to be
easily accessible by public transportation.
Marshrutkas are a distinctly Eastern European form of minibus, and many of them in Kyiv serve the
airport. Tell the driver where you’re going and pay while you’re entering the minibus. The fare should
be 2.5-3 UAH.
169, 368, 302, 482, 496, and 499 all connect various parts of the city to the airport, as well as to other forms of
public transportation. Nos 169 and 368 stop near the main train station. Nos 302 (Kontraktova Ploscha),
482 (Dorogozhichi), 496 (Lukianovska) and 499 (Vasylkivska) all stop near the different metro stations identified
here.
Bus No. 80 also stops near the airport. You should buy your ticket at a kiosk or from your driver, and you
must validate it after entering the bus. If you don’t and an inspector asks to see your ticket, you can be
fined as though you don’t have a ticket at all. Validating machines can be found inside the bus, and you just
stick your ticket in until it makes a stamping noise. It’s not difficult, and the price of a ticket should be
1.5 UAH.
Trolleybus No. 22 will connect you to both the city and both airport terminals. The price and procedure for
getting a ticket is the same as with a regular bus.
